The Grief Gather

Mother's Day Community Grief Walk

A quiet honoring for those who carry love and loss

Mother’s Day can stir up many emotions—grief, longing, gratitude, anger, ambivalence. Whether you’re mourning the loss of a mother, grieving a child, navigating estrangement, or holding space for a story that doesn’t easily fit into words—this gathering is for you.

Join us for a gentle community grief walk on Mother’s Day weekend.

We’ll meet at Washington Park Arboretum for a brief grounding, followed by a walk together through nature. There will be space to reflect, connect, or simply move alongside others who understand that this day holds more than one story.

This is not a therapy group, but a community offering—an invitation to tend your heart in good company.

But if now isn’t the time, please know your presence is enough. You are warmly welcome, with or without a contribution.

All are welcome:
Come as you are. Just bring your walking shoes, water, and whatever you’re holding this Mother’s Day.

Tree Lined Path

Father's Day Community Grief Walk

For anyone who’s lost their father—recently or long ago, gently or complicatedly

Grieving a father can bring up unexpected tenderness, silence, and heaviness—especially on a day when the world seems to celebrate what’s been lost. Whether your dad died recently or years ago, whether your relationship was close or complicated, this gathering is for you. Whatever shape your loss takes, this gathering is for you.

We’ll meet at Lincoln Park in West Seattle for a brief grounding, followed by a walk together through nature. There will be space to reflect, connect, or simply move alongside others who understand that this day holds more than one story.
